Securing resources that contribute to improved water governance and management in a changing climate is essential for improved water security. In this course, you will discover six steps you need to take for effective resource mobilisation linked to reconciling water values in ways that are equitable, transparent and inclusive.

You have good ideas of what needs to happen to strengthen water security in a changing climate, you have a concrete plan for action, you feel energized and confident that you can make a change. Now all you need are the funds! Getting these funds require that you master the art of fundraising.

This course offers you an actionable six-step approach to fundraising for your idea. You will learn how to formulate clear fundraising goals. Then you will identify funding opportunities and choose the best one for your project. You will also discover how to design an engagement strategy and explore a clear structure and best practices for delivering a pitch that will convince potential donors and partners.

    Who is leading the course?

    This course has been designed by:

    • IUCN’s Water and Land Management Team in close collaboration with the IUCN Academy, the Valuing Water Initiative (VWI) and Youth Journey Partners (Aquafed, KWR, Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre).

     

    For a successful completion, participants must:

    • Attend 4 of the 6 live online sessions.

    • Complete individual and group projects.
